Moore County Schools offers tuition preschool spots to eligible children. Annual registration and weekly fees apply. Children in a tuition slot must pass a developmental screen (educational and speech/language) prior to enrollment.
Priority is given to children of Moore County Schools Employees.
If you are interested in tuition paid pre-school, please fill out the appropriate application based on location to get placed on a waitlist.

All families will be notified via email by June 30 to confirm their child's spot in our preschool program for the upcoming school year.
Free Developmental Screenings
Is your child 3 to 5 years old and do you have a concern regarding their cognitive, adaptive, communication, fine/gross motor skills or social/emotional skills? If so, Moore County Schools Preschool Program will be offering Developmental Screenings at various locations and dates. Please bring your child's Birth Certificate or passport and proof of residence such as a water or power bill.
NC Pre-K:
NC Pre-K is a FREE preschool program for at-risk children. Acceptance is based on need and number of seats available NOT first come first served. NC Pre-K provides high-quality pre-kindergarten classes for at-risk four year old's through the Moore County Schools preschool program. Children enrolling in the NC Pre-K Program must be determined eligible, and awarded a slot by the Moore County NC Pre-K Committee. The program serves children who are 4-years-old by August 31 of the program year and are considered at risk for poor school outcomes.
Eligibility Requirements for NC Pre-K:
- You must be a Moore County resident
- Your child must meet one or more of the following risk factors:
- Low Income
- Chronic Health Condition as Diagnosed by a Doctor
- Limited English Proficiency
- Current IEP for Speech Services or for a Developmental Delay
- Military
- Your Child is NOT Currently Enrolled in a Childcare Center, Preschool or Headstart Program
- Submitting an application does not guarantee a spot in one of our locations. Please note that NC PRE K and tuition based preschool are two different applications.
