The Frick Technology Achievement Award
$1,800 to further your STEM-related education
Applications for the 2024-2025 school year are closed
In partnership with the Public Education Foundation of Moore County, the Frick Technology Achievement Award supports graduating seniors from MCS who plan to pursue a career in a STEM-related field.
Each year, one graduating senior will receive a $1,800 award to further his or her post-secondary education. The check and a plaque will be presented to the winning candidate in May.
The Frick Award has three purposes: 1) to recognize outstanding performance and the major opportunities in the STEM career pathways, 2) to highlight the major impact that technology will have on every phase of our life, and 3) to highlight the excellent programs that MCS has put into the STEM/CTE activities.
Who should apply? Applicants should be Moore County Schools students graduating at the conclusion of the academic year in which they apply. The successful candidate should be able to communicate their participation in STEM activities, CTE courses and advanced STEM coursework throughout their K-12 careers. STEM coursework includes advanced, honors and SCC math and science courses. CTE courses vary widely and extra consideration is given to pathway completers. It is important to note that while the ideal candidate has participated in multiple STEM-related activities and courses in MCS, there is no minimum number of activities required to apply. The candidate should communicate a plan for continuing their academic journey aligned to a career field. To apply, complete the application linked below.
