A "capped" school is one whose student capacity is at 95% or higher.
The following schools are "capped" and closed to all new transfers and discretionary admissions for the 2025-2026 school year:
- Pinecrest High School
- Union Pines High School
- West Pine Middle School
Tuition requirements for approved out-of-county discretionary admission is waived at the following schools designated as under-utilized for the 2025-2026 school year:
- Elise Middle School
- Highfalls Elementary School
- North Moore High School
- Robbins Elementary School
- Westmoore Elementary School
Under-utilized schools, by Board policy, are (1) a school currently under-enrolled and projected to remain so based on growth projections; (2) a school that has sufficient space, staffing, grade-level capacity and appropriate programming as defined in Policy 6210.2 and its implementing regulation to accommodate the student's enrollment; and (3) allowing the enrollment and waiving tuition would adversely impact the Board's overall student assignment plans and goals.
