    2019-2020 District Calendar Feedback (Spanish)
    Moore County Schools is working on the 2019-2020 School Calendar and seeks input from our parents, students, staff, and community members. The 2012 NC General Assembly Bill 187 requires that school calendars must meet certain requirements. To review those school calendar requirements as set by the General Assembly, please visit the Legislation Summary

    MCS Launches New District App

    As part of its continuing effort to promote engagement among its students, parents, staff and the community, Moore County Schools has launched a new app with features that allow users to connect with the district as well as with individual schools with ease and efficiency.     School Improvement District Preliminary Plan Input Request
    The District Preliminary Plan to support the state-identified "low performing schools" is available to the school community for review.  Before our local Board of Education votes to approve, modify, or reject this plan by November 6, 2017 they request local input.  The plan is available to the public, including the personnel assigned to one of the schools: Aberdeen Elementary, Robbins Elementary or Southern Middle, and the parents and guardians of the students who are assigned to the schools. Please provide written comments on this form link. The form will be available until October 26, 2017. 

    Moore County Schools Achieves Gains in State Accountability Measures in 2016-2017
    MCS continues to make gains on most measures of student learning, according to school accountability data released on September 7, 2017, by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) as part of its READY accountability initiative. The district's graduation rate increased to 91 percent, 3.2 percentage points higher than last year and 4.5 percentage points higher than the state average. Ten schools -- including all three high schools -- earned a 'B' grade, up from 7 schools last year. For more information, click here


    Calendar 2017-18 School Calendar

    The official school calendars for the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 school years have been posted. Printable PDFs are available at this link. Printed versions will also be distributed to all students at the beginning of the 2017-2018 term.

    The School Calendar Committee, consisting of parents, teachers and staff, appreciates the feedback from the community provided during the comment period in January. The school calendar feedback survey garnered 325 responses and 117 comments. The committee was able to make several suggested adjustments to the calendar based on that feedback, within the limits as set by the General Assembly.      Area I Elementary School Area I Elementary School

    The new Area I elementary school will alleviate overcrowding at Sandhills Farm Life and Vass-Lakeview elementary schools. The 113,772 sq. ft. facility will have a capacity for 800 students from kindergarten through the 5th grade. - More
