Moore County Schools FY 2019 Operating Budget
The Moore County Board of Education is asking the public to provide input on its proposed operating budget for FY 2019.
Comments will be collected through Friday, April 6 and will be presented to the Board of Education at its April Work Session on Monday, April 9. The Board of Education will vote on the final budget on April 16, after which it will be presented to the County Board of Commissioners for its approval on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. “Special Incoming Kindergarten Only” Student Transfer/Discretionary Admission Request
From March 19 through March 30, 2018, “special” student transfer/discretionary admission requests for incoming kindergarten students will be available open to allow families with rising kindergarten students who are new to Moore County Schools the opportunity to request a student transfer.
This year, Moore County Schools is implementing a new online process for student transfer and discretionary admission requests. In order to request a student transfer from one school to another within Moore County or a discretionary admission for a student residing outside of Moore County, parents may click here and follow the online instructions for creating an account and completing a request. All correspondence regarding the status of your transfer request will occur through email once you have registered and submitted your request online.
You may contact your school office or visit the Moore County Schools Student Support Services’ webpage for additional information related to the 2018-2019 student transfer/discretionary admission process.
STEM Camp 2018: Applications Now Being Accepted
From March 12 through March 22, applications for Moore County Schools' 2018 STEM Camps will be accepted. Due to high demand, participants will be chosen through a lottory system. Click here for more information and to apply.

As a reminder, any child who will be entering kindergarten must be five years of age on or before August 31, 2018. Kindergarten Registration Day is March 16th, 2018 and takes place at your child’s school. Click here for more information.
Student Transfers and Discretionary Admission
The window for making a school transfer or discretionary admission request for 2018-2019 was February 1-28. The window is now closed and no further requests are being accepted. If you submitted a request, all communication regarding the status of your request will be conducted through email. The district expects to communicate about approval and denial decisions by March 30.

2017-18 School Calendar (Spanish)
The official school calendars for the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 school years have been posted. Printable PDFs are available at this link. Printed versions will also be distributed to all students at the beginning of the 2017-2018 term.
The School Calendar Committee, consisting of parents, teachers and staff, appreciates the feedback from the community provided during the comment period in January. The school calendar feedback survey garnered 325 responses and 117 comments. The committee was able to make several suggested adjustments to the calendar based on that feedback, within the limits as set by the General Assembly. NC School Report Cards for the 2016-17 School Year
The NC School Report Cards website,www.ncpublicschools.org/src, allows the community to access a variety of information about each public school alongside district and state information. The individual school Report Cards include school contact information, school and class/course sizes, student performance data (disaggregated), teacher qualifications and credentials, attendance, statistics on school technology and school safety figures. Area I Elementary School
The new Area I elementary school will alleviate overcrowding at Sandhills Farm Life and Vass-Lakeview elementary schools. The 113,772 sq. ft. facility will have a capacity for 800 students from kindergarten through the 5th grade. -More -
New Aberdeen Elementary School
The new Aberdeen elementary school will replace the aging Aberdeen primary school and Aberdeen elementary school buildings. The 117,693 sq. ft. facility will have a capacity for 800 students from kindergarten through the 5th grade. - More -
