NC Center for Safer SchoolsIn accordance with North Carolina House Bill 142, all students in grades 6-12 are required to view specific videos on abuse and neglect as part of the Protecting Our Students Act. These videos were developed by the NC Center for Safer Schools and the required portion will be viewed by our students in grades 6-12.

This video will be shown to MCS 6-8 grade students.

This video will be shown to MCS 9-12 grade students.

Schools will include in their communications the date their students will be shown their respective video.

In conjunction with these videos, students will also receive information about the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System. The Say Something Anonymous Reporting System (SS-ARS) is a program designed to provide a secure and confidential way for individuals to report concerning or threatening behavior to help prevent violence, suicide, bullying, and self-harm in schools. It utilizes a mobile app, website, and 24/7 phone hotline for anonymous reporting. Trained crisis counselors at the Sandy Hook Promise National Crisis Center assess and triage tips, then forward them to school officials and/or law enforcement as needed.
