Moore County Schools Superintendent Dr. Tim Locklair has announced his intent to retire effective March 1, 2026, following a distinguished 31-year career in public education. Since becoming Superintendent in 2022, Dr. Locklair has led the district through significant academic growth, expanded learning opportunities, strengthened community partnerships, and launched the student-centered leadership model known as the “MCS Way.” Under his leadership, the district earned numerous statewide accolades, including Top 10 rankings in Grade Level Proficiency and CTE credentials, continued Purple Star District recognition, and the opening of Moore Innovative High School.
