Dr. Seth Powers Dr. Powers has worked for MCS for 24 years as a teacher, principal and since July 2016 as Director of Student Support Services. Prior to his current position, he served as a principal at Highfalls and West Pine Elementary Schools and Elise Middle School. As Director for Student Support Services, he is responsible for all activities related student safety, health and welfare, including school nurses, MCS Police Department, counselors, social workers, psychologists and athletics.
Dr. Powers has a Bachelor of Science in physical education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a master’s degree in school administration from UNC-Chapel Hill, and a doctorate in educational leadership from Fayetteville State University.
Lucinda Dedmond has been a school psychologist for Moore County Schools for 20 years, covering numerouse schools. During 7 of those years she also served as a school counselor. Her most recent assignments were at Southern Pines Primary School, Southern Pines Elementary School, and the Community Learning Center at Pinckney.
Mrs. Dedmond earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and an advanced specialist degree in school psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. More recently, she earned a Post Master's Certificate in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro.
