    Roger Leeson The role of the Department of Planning and Construction is to help assess needs for and provide physical facilities to support the mission of Moore County Schools. The Operations Department constructs, acquires, renovates and where appropriate, replaces facilities for school activities.

    Roger Leeson has focused on leadership and project management for numerous design and construction projects in the K-12 and higher education sectors. He has managed $500 million in public school construction projects throughout North Carolina, with an emphasis on cost management and competitive bidding and award processes. Leeson is a past president of the American Institute of Architects, North Carolina Chapter, and is a leader in the construction industry. He has been a champion of fast-track project construction methods, geo-thermal heat pump technology, and panelized and light gauge steel construction techniques. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design and a Bachelor of Architecture from Ball State University. He holds a LEED AP certification.
