    MOORE COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION APPROVES STRATEGIC PLAN;
    UNVEILS NEW MISSION AND VISION STATEMENTS

    Moore County Board of Education has adopted new statements describing its mission and vision as well as core beliefs as part of its strategic plan for 2018-2021.

    Mission statements articulate what an organization wants to do now, while vision statements articulate what an organization aspires to be in the future.

    The mission statement is “Moore County Schools creates a supportive, engaging, and safe learning environment that builds knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for future success.”

    The vision statement is “Moore County Schools will ensure that educational experiences inspire students to reach their full potential and lead productive lives in an ever-changing world.”

    Newly adopted core beliefs were also officially adopted by the school board and are:

    “We believe successful schools are essential for thriving communities, and that…

    • every student can learn and succeed, regardless of socio-economic status, race, and ethnicity;
    • all staff are empowered to meet the diverse learning needs of our students;
    • resources are provided so students and staff of all backgrounds and abilities can be successful;
    • students should come to school and feel safe, secure, and cared for;
    • we are a partnership with students, parents, and community; and
    • we are accountable for the education of our students.”

    The strategic plan highlights five domains of focus for the district over the next three years:

    • Academic Achievement
    • Student Safety, Health and Welfare
    • Employee Culture and Capacity
    • Parent and Community Engagement
    • Organizational Capacity and Efficiency
