Anita W. Alpenfels, Executive Officer for Human Resources
Executive Officer for Human Resources Anita W. Alpenfels has been with Moore County Schools since 1988. Originally from Sampson County, Anita earned both Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina, and her doctorate in educational leadership at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Since July 2003, she has worked in the area of Human Resources, serving on the school district’s senior staff. She has also assisted at the state level as requested, serving on the State Board of Education’s License Appeals Panel, the State Evaluation Committee on Teacher Education and the State Superintendent’s Ethics Advisory Committee. Prior to her current role, Anita was a music educator at the elementary, middle and high school levels and served as director of arts education for MCS. She also served as Director of Public Information and Community Services.
Anita has had wonderful opportunities to participate in this active community, having served on the boards of the Arts Council of Moore County and United Way. She is an active Rotarian and Kiwanian, recently serving as President for the Rotary Club of the Sandhills.Executive Officer for Human Resources
