Christmas Traditions Concert


The Moore Philharmonic Orchestra will perform their Christmas Traditions Concert on December 17 at Lee Auditorium, Pinecrest High School. The Concert is free, open to the public and begins at 7 pm.

The MPO is a community-based orchestra made up of talented students and adults that is lead by Eric Kopecky, Orchestra Director at Southern Middle School and Matthew Holt, Director of Orchestras at Pinecrest High School. They offer scholarships for music students and sponsor the Northern Moore Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.

NC School Report Cards

School Report Cards

The North Carolina Department of Instruction (NCDPI) has released School Report Cards for the entire state. Each report card includes information about school and student performance, access to technology, school safety and teacher quality. The data compiled in the NC School Report Cards reflects assessments of each school and the entire district for the 2015-16 academic year.

Superintendent's Spotlight on Greatness - JROTC

The focus of this month's Superintendent's Spotlight of Greatness is on the outstanding students in the Junior ROTC programs at Union Pines and Pinecrest. Hear Col. McDonald, Master Gunnery Sgt Danangerfield and students talk about the opportunities the program provides. 

Area I Elementary School

New Area I Elementary School Located on Camp Easter Road, the new Area I elementary school will alleviate overcrowding at Sandhills Farm Life and Vass-Lakeview elementary schools. The 113,772 sq. ft. facility will have a capacity for 800 students from kindergarten through the 5th grade. - More -

Advanced Career Center
Advanced Career Center Located on the campus of Sandhills Community College, the Advanced Career Center will be a 114,991 sq. ft., three-story facility to accommodate 600 to 800 high school students each instructional day. Features of the building include geothermal heating and air conditioning systems to help lower energy consumption and costs. -  More -
